Understanding AirPlay technology is essential. Developed by Apple Inc., AirPlay is a proprietary protocol enabling wireless streaming of audio, video, screen sharing, and photos, along with associated metadata. Initially known as AirTunes, it was limited to audio transmission through Apple software and devices. Supported receiver hardware encompasses Apple products such as AirPort Express, Apple TV, along with third-party speakers from brands like Libratone, Bose, Yamaha, Philips, Marantz, Bowers & Wilkins, Pioneer, Sony, and Denon.

The utility can identify AirPlay-enabled wireless speakers on your local Wi-Fi network, including those connected via Bluetooth PAN. It detects vendor details, device models, and types among common AirPlay devices such as:

Security features are also evaluated, covering password protection mechanisms and encryption support (e.g., RSA, FairPlay).
